The Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer brings to life the most intriguing woman in the history of the world: Cleopatra, the last queen of Egypt. Her palace shimmered with onyx, garnets, and gold, but was richer still in political and sexual intrigue. Above all else, Cleopatra was a shrewd strategist and an ingenious negotiator. Though her life spanned fewer than forty years, it
reshaped the contours of the ancient world. Download mailer/reservation form here.

Barbara Rinella, a former teacher, defines herself as an "academic entertainer." For many years she has been celebrating literature and learning through her delightful programs on current books. Taking on the personas of characters from the works of great authors, she has portrayed a wide range of historical, fictional, and public figures with humor and wit. The luncheon also features a silent auction, raffle, and book sale.
