| SUMMER CLASSES
FOR CHILDREN |
| My Family
in Stained Glass |
| Saturday, June
16, 9–10:30 am |
$15, $5 each additional
($12 RAM members, $3 each additional) |
| Create a family
masterpiece together. Each family member makes their own self-portrait
in stained glass. Led by Rockford artist Ingrid Dohm. Prices
include fee for one child. |
| Museums
are for Drawing Too! (ages 10-14) |
Thursday-Friday, 2-4 pm
August 9-10 |

| Visit various Riverfront
Museum Park museums and learn or improve your drawing skills
on site. Work from installations in multiple museums to improve
your skills in this 2-day workshop. You can repeat the class
to refine your skills throughout the summer. All supplies included. |
| Comic Strip
Creators (ages 10–16) |
Tuesday, 1–4 pm
July 17 or August 7 |

| Work with an artist to
develop your own comic strip! Use drawing and inking techniques
to create a real comic book effect. Tell your story, create
your characters and learn techniques to help you develop the
look and feel of your comic. All supplies included. |

Printmaking (ages 8–12) |

| Go outside at RMP and find
natural objects to use as stamps then head back into the Art
Annex to make some prints of your own using the objects as models
as you make a block print, made to use as a stamp as well. See
how you can use nature and draw from it to create works of art.

| Using a variety of materials
found in nature, create original works of art. From baskets
to rock mosaics – see how creative you can be with natural
materials. This class gives children an opportunity to create

| This watercolor painting
class introduces children to the basic techniques and fundamentals
of the medium. Children will learn how to paint while having

in Drawing (ages 6–11) |

| Hang on to your hats as
you learn to draw or learn to improve your current drawing skills.
This five-day class explores different drawing materials and
cool subjects, including cartooning, faces, masks, outer space,
rockets, ships, sea creatures and optical illusions. All supplies

with Clay (ages 7–14) |

a variety of exciting and useful objects! Explore handbuilding,
decorating and glazing techniques. Bring a towel, kitchen knife

Workshop (ages 6–12) |

| Come and explore you dreams
and daydreams! Create a storybook about one of your dreams with
words and art. Students will use paint, paper, fabric, and markers
to create their own special “Dream Place.” Students
will use the five senses to write a short story about what they
hear, see, touch, taste, and smell in their own place. Led by
Rockford author and artist Barb Santucci. |
