| START (Senior Time for Art) |
START is an art appreciation and
activity program for senior citizens in retirement
homes and long-term care facilities. Free monthly
visits engage participants from area sites in creative
projects offering intellectual, emotional, physical
and social stimulation. START is one of few area museum
educational outreach programs offered for elderly
audiences.

ArtReach brings art to schoolchildren
as a discussion resource for classroom use.
The program has introduced thousands of students
to the visual arts and is offered for K-12.
ArtReach participants are regular classroom
teachers, art teachers or PTO volunteers.
75 portfolios in 30 different themes are available,
and up to 3 portfolios may be checked out
simultaneously for a 3-month loan period.
Each themed portfolio includes art reproductions
and an instructional folder containing age-appropriate
questions, art vocabulary terms, and activity
ideas.
