Young Artist Show
---
In 1941, Rockford Art Museum displayed the art of Rockford school children in the first Young Artist Show. Making the Young Artist Show a part of the museum's annual schedule revealed an understanding of the dynamic role that art experiences and art education play in the lives of young people and our community.

The face of the Young Artist Show has changed but the event still celebrates the outstanding achievements of student artists and their dedicated teachers. Today, the popular exhibit bears a reputation of excellence, expanding from its modest local beginnings into a regional show featuring students from private, public, parochial, and home school situations.

The Young Artist Show is divided into two divisions: High School and Youth. The High School Division runs from mid-March to mid-April, with the Youth Division following from mid-April to mid-May.
