Pulp and Pigment: The Realms of Roland Poska
Feb 3 - May 6, 2012
Rockford artist Roland Poska's pioneering work in the field of handmade paper has established him as an important figure in the Midwest and the nation. Exploring themes of color on a monumental scale this exhibit will showcase many of the works that helped define his career as well as the medium of paper as art form. Tireless and selfless, the work is a celebration of his philosophy that we all have the potential for originality, greatness, and equality within the human spirit. His use of colosr, surface and scale in the abstract expressionist tradition is a testament to his creativity and work ethic. Roland's work is not the product of divine touch, but rather the result of love and labor. Never one to follow trends or styles Poska has created a lasting body of work that resonates with people of all ages. Come celebrate one of Rockford's own living legends. Curated by guest curator, Dave Menard. Visit exhibition webpage.
