Join local artist and art teacher Corina McCulloh as you learn about the lives and techniques of two of the great artists of the past, Claude Monet and Henri Matisse. Create your own masterpieces using similar techniques and styles. Be prepared to question ‘the artist from the past himself’ during a surprise visit! All supplies included.

Learn to draw or improve your drawing skills. Work with different materials including drawing pencils, colored pencils, charcoal and pastels. Subjects for drawings come from the imagination and from real objects too! All supplies included.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try! Join local artist and art teacher Kara Rehfeldt to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss! Children will be inspired to create art projects based his well-known stories and characters. Read alouds will be encouraged, as much creativity abounds! Parents are welcome. It’s Elementary, My Dear

Kids love art! This beginning class introduces children to the elements of art: shape, color and texture. Explore these elements through drawing, painting, and other media. Learn how to incorporate each technique into your own masterpiece! All supplies included. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Please register child only. Class will not meet APR 7.

Here’s lookin’ at you, kid! Consider how you see yourself and others as you explore the art of portraiture. Learn how to draw basic facial features, and be inspired by artists like Pablo Picasso, Henri Rousseau, and Andy Warhol as you make fantastical versions of yourself! All supplies included. Class will not meet APR 7.

Take every day objects like plastic jars, containers, and plastic water bottles and turn them in to something beautiful! Work with local artist Norm Knott to collage the outside of your container with a variety of materials., then paint and decorate until your finished vase emerges. All supplies included.

Ancient Art

Take a trip back in time! Have fun creating primitive looking works of art using a variety of mediums while learning about our ancient ancestors. Discover early cave paintings and explore techniques and symbols used in Native American art. Explore your “inner primitive.” All supplies included.

SESSION APR 14–MAY 19 | COURSE # WIZ 801 RAM5

Learn! Create! SCULPT! Join local artist and art teacher Corina McCulloh as you learn the history of mask making and explore the techniques used in a variety of sculptures. Create 3-dimensional artwork and your own unique mask designs. Students will explore sculpting using a variety of mediums including wire and plaster casting. All supplies included.
